Earth Biofuels Subsidiary to co-host Grand Opening of LNG/CNG Fueling Station 08 May, 2008 |
 |
| Dallas, Texas (May 6, 2008) — Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF) today announced that its subsidiary, Applied LNG Technologies (“ALT”) and The City of Redlands, California will host a Grand Opening of the first public liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) and compressed natural gas (“CNG”) fueling station in the United States.
The Grand Opening will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the City Corporate Yard located at 1270 Park Avenue, Redlands, California. The event will feature comments from the Mayor of Redlands, Jon Harrison, and Cynthia Ravenstein from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee. State Assemblyman Bill Emmerson is also slated to attend the event.
ALT management believes the City of Redlands will mark an important milestone in a collective path towards the use of natural gas as viable alternative fuel for the future. The opening of a new LNG/CNG station will fuel the City’s fleet vehicles as well as provide this opportunity to other fleets within the region. Vehicles must undergo certain modifications in order to utilize LNG or CNG as a fuel.
“Offering the first public LNG/CNG station is very exciting and means the public will have access to clean, domestically produced LNG and CNG in a convenient location.” said Gary Van Dorst, Director, Quality of Life Department for City of Redlands.
Through the funding opportunities provided by the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) and California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) the City will operate 20 of its 32 City vehicles on CNG/LNG fuels by the end of its fiscal year.
The City of Redlands signed a three year contract with ALT to supply fuel to the station. ALT is the largest provider of vehicle-grade LNG in the Western United States.
“We look forward to a long-term relationship with the City of Redlands and are pleased to be able to provide a reliable LNG supply for a location that is now available to the public,” said Kevin Markey, Vice President, ALT, Inc.

 |
| Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF) today announced that its subsidiary, Applied LNG Technologies, Inc. (“ALT”), has begun receiving regular deliveries of the output of renewable liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) produced from a landfill site in Orange County, California.
Per the terms of a prior agreement, ALT has the first right to purchase one hundred percent of the nameplate capacity (5,000 gallons per day) production of the LNG facility which is owned by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prometheus Energy Company at the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill. ALT markets the LNG to the Orange County Transportation Authority.
ALT’s Vice President of Operations, Kevin Markey, said, “We are excited to incorporate renewable LNG from landfill gas into our growing California market. The demand for clean, transportation-grade LNG in California has never been higher.”
Prometheus’ Chief Operating Officer, Earl Franklin, added, “We are proud to have the first LNG production facility of its kind in operation and look forward to growing our relationship with ALT.”

Earth Biofuels LNG Subsidiary Announces Contract Renewal 15 November, 2007 |
 |
| Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF) today announced that its subsidiary, Applied LNG Technologies (“ALT”) has renewed a three year liquefied natural gas supply agreement with the City of Redlands (California).
The City of Redlands utilizes liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) as transportation fuel for its municipal fleet vehicles, and has built an LNG and compressed natural gas (“CNG”) refueling station for public use within its city limits.
“This renewal exemplifies our recent successes in growing our profitable LNG business, especially in the California markets,” stated Earth Biofuels CEO, Dennis McLaughlin. “We are now in the process of expanding our product availability to make LNG available in major cities outside of California.”
LNG meets California’s strict emission standards and is now more readily available for use by commercial vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, utility companies, fleets, light-duty trucks and consumer CNG vehicles. Vehicles fueled by the transportation grade LNG produce approximately one-sixth of the nitrous oxides (NOx) and up to 15 percent less greenhouse gases than comparable petroleum diesel fueled vehicles.
“We are pleased to be able to offer the public access to clean, domestically produced LNG and CNG in a convenient location and ALT has been a great partner in this effort,” said Gary Van Dorst, Solid Waste Manager for City of Redlands.
Through California’s South Coast Air District and Air Quality Management grants, the City of Redlands will operate 20 of its 32 municipal vehicles on LNG/CNG fuels by its fiscal year end.
“This is a win-win agreement because it allows ALT to provide LNG on a long term basis and gives the City of Redlands piece of mind knowing that they have stability regarding their LNG supply,” said Kevin Markey, Vice President, ALT, Inc.ALT LNG produces and markets liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Earth Biofuels Outlines 2007 Growth Plan 14 June, 2007 |
 |
| Members of the Earth Biofuels, Inc. Board of Directors (OTCBB: EBOF) met to review operating results and expectations, and then affirmed the Company’s 2007 plan for sustainable growth. The Board-approved plan presents, in management’s opinion, an achievable path to profitability for the Company and its U.S. focused biofuels and alternative fuels businesses.
“The biofuels industry and other alternative fuels are absolutely essential to our nation’s energy security and our ability to maintain economic independence,” said Dennis G. McLaughlin III, chairman and CEO of Earth Biofuels. “The goal of energy independence won’t be achieved through use of a single technology, which is why Earth Biofuels has created a diversified portfolio of alternative transportation fuels. With the hard work of our initial development largely completed, Earth Biofuels is poised to move into the next stage of commercial growth and sustained profitability.”
“In this emerging market as we continue to refine our business objectives and validate our core business values, the Board is pleased with Earth Biofuels’ progress,” said Director Bill Luckett. “The Company’s board of directors has carefully reviewed our long-range strategic plan, which contains several actionable elements that will be addressed in 2007. We believe that successful execution of these elements will help define Earth Biofuels’ stature as a leading vertically integrated, diversified biofuels producer.”
Highlights of 2007 Plan:
CLEAN BURNING ALTERNATIVE FUELS
Continued profitability and future production increases for LNG division -- Earth LNG, also known as ALT LNG, is the largest producer of vehicle-grade LNG in the Western U.S. The Company owns an 86,000 gallon per day LNG production plant in Topock, Arizona and services several large fleet customers in California. It is currently selling over 90% of production capacity. The plant has shifted to index pricing and has ongoing capital improvements to increase capacity and improve margins. The Company is also negotiating with select vendors in an ongoing effort to reduce transportation costs which will also contribute to increased efficiencies.
Continuous biodiesel production and secured customer commitments -- The biodiesel plant located in Durant, Oklahoma has completed its pilot phase and is now fully operational. It has a production capacity of 10 million gallons per year and a future capacity of 20 million gallons per year. Since the beginning of 2007, Earth Biofuels has secured sales commitments from several large fuel retail outlets for over 40% of current production capacity (no assurances can be given that such sales commitments will be realized).
Illinois plant development further expands biodiesel availability -- In 2006, Earth Biofuels invested an equity interest in a newly-formed company named Biodiesel Investment Group (BIG). BIG and Bunge North America, Inc. ("Bunge"), one of the nation's leading agribusiness firms, partnered to begin the construction of a biodiesel plant with an annual capacity of 45 million gallons. The plant is located adjacent to a major Bunge soybean crusher significantly reducing feedstock transportation costs. Earth plans to market the new plant's biodiesel production under its BioWillie® premium biodiesel brand name.
Willie’s Place at Carl’s Corner soon to be flagship BioWillie® station -- Through local partnerships, the former Carl’s Corner Truck Stop is being rebuilt as “Willie’s Place at Carl’s Corner,” in Hillsboro, Texas. The location, just north of the I-35 split, to I-35W (Ft. Worth) and I-35E (Dallas), has a long history serving truckers and visitors on I-35. It is now in the finishing stages prior to the intended reopening this summer.
Expansion into ethanol through joint ventures and cutting-edge cellulosic technology– The Company is exploring opportunities in ethanol in both acquisition and developing new technology. Revolution Biorefining, LP (“RBR”), a proposed Earth Biofuels partnership, would develop cutting-edge proprietary technology in the pretreatment of biomass and its conversion into cellulosic biofuels. White House advisor and Auburn University professor, Dr. David Bransby, describes the Revolution Biorefining technology as “years ahead of anything else” he is aware of in the industry. David Bransby, cellulosic biofuels expert, was recently appointed to the Earth Biofuels’ Advisory Board and will focus efforts on this new technology.
Earth Biofuels Technology Company, LLC (EBTC) launches biofuels’ construction company – Earth Biofuels formed a joint venture partnership with Professor Miguel Dabdoub to create Earth Biofuels Technology Company. As a world-renowned biodiesel authority and the holder of proprietary technologies relating to the construction of biodiesel facilities, Dr. Dabdoub is an expert in the efficiencies, output capacities, and quality control measures relating to biodiesel production and processing. The company holds the exclusive rights to Dr. Dabdoub’s technologies throughout North America. The Company will use EBTC to build plants for it and third parties.

Tennessee FFA Team Wins Second in State Competition for BioWillie Demonstration 16 May, 2007 |
 |
A Portland, TN, Future Farmers of America team, in a state wide competition, won second place performing a skit about a current agriculture issue, showing the advantages of biodiesel over regular diesel. Using Willie Nelson’s BioWillie® premium biodiesel, as sold at the Middle Tennessee Truck Plaza as their fuel, they demonstrated and debated use of this clean burning fuel.
Their FFA coach, Donna Sadler, shared with Earth Biofuels details of their research and findings of differences between biodiesel and diesel. “Our team preformed a skit about a family taking a vacation in the Smokey Mountains (instead of Florida – due to high fuel prices). The family stopped at the Mid-Tenn Truck Plaza for fuel. They were invited to participate in a “Myth Busters” television episode while exploring the advantages of biodiesel. With a student acting as Willie Nelson and another as a fuel company representative, they debated the pros and cons of each fuel.”
“The kids actually tested BioWillie® premium biodiesel in a vehicle for their research,” continued Sadler. According to Matt, one of the students in the competition, “Earth Bio-fuels helped us research our Agriculture Issues topic and thanks to them we received second place in the state.” And Elizabeth, another student, shared, “It was nice to be able to know exactly what biofuels were about. I not only used it in the competition, but you would be amazed at how often it comes up in everyday life.”
“We are pleased that America’s next generation of consumers are educating themselves on the advantages of clean burning, renewable fuels such as biodiesel,” said Randy Hepler, senior vice president sales and operations of Earth Biofuels. “This encourages me that we are making progress in lessening our dependence on foreign energy while helping our future farmers. It’s a win-win for all.”

Earth Biofuels and BioWillie® Featured in PBS Documentary 18 January, 2007 |
 |
| Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF) today announced that the company was featured in the weekly PBS program, “NOW”, hosted by David Brancaccio. The segment, “From Plow to Pump”, is a documentary which describes the biodiesel product life cycle beginning with the cottonseed farmer who supplies the oil for the production process to the tractor trailer that is fueled with BioWillie® biodiesel fuel.
The segment includes interviews with Willie Nelson and Earth Biofuels’ Chairman and CEO, Dennis McLaughlin. Additionally, it highlights Earth Biofuels’ and the renewable fuels industry’s continuing commitment to reduce America’s dependence on foreign sources of energy by providing domestically produced, clean-burning sources of energy.
“We are proud to be a part of the PBS program ‘From Plow to Pump’”, said Dennis McLaughlin, Chairman and CEO of Earth Biofuels. “Earth Biofuels is working to reduce our dependency on foreign energy by providing domestically produced, clean-burning renewable fuels for our nation. We believe strongly in this industry’s ability to have a significant impact on our national security, environment, and American farmers. We believe there is a great deal of educational value in this segment and appreciate PBS’s work to continue to educate on this important emerging technology.”
David Brancaccio, host of “NOW”, stated: “Lately there has been a lot of talk about the importance of alternative energy sources in reducing America's dependence on foreign oil. We wanted to address that issue. However, many alternative energy projects are still in the research stage. Since Earth Biofuels is actually marketing a retail product, that gave us the opportunity to look at a real-world example."
The program aired on Friday, January 12 on PBS and can be viewed at http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/302/index.html along with an extended interview with Willie Nelson at http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/302/willie-nelson.html. The program may be re-broadcast in local markets.
Earth Biofuels’ BioWillie® brand is on biodiesel pumps that are currently located in seven states, including California, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. Earth Biofuels Subsidiary Awarded LNG Supply Agreement with Omnitrans 16 January, 2007 |
 |
| Earth LNG, Inc. today announced that it’s wholly owned subsidiary, Applied LNG Technologies USA L.L.C. (“ALT”), has been awarded a five year contract for the sale of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Omnitrans, contingent upon Omnitrans’ receipt of certain insurance certificates and endorsements from ALT.
Earth LNG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF).
Omnitrans is the public transit agency serving the San Bernardino Valley in Southern California. Founded in 1976 through a joint powers agreement, Omnitrans carries approximately 15 million passengers each year throughout its 480-square mile service area. ALT has sold LNG to Omnitrans since 2002.
Under terms of the new agreement, ALT will deliver transportation grade LNG each month to Omnitrans’ East Valley facility. ALT delivers the fuel via cryogenic tanker truck from its LNG production facility in Topock, Arizona to specialized fueling stations from which the customer’s fleet vehicles are fueled.
Transportation grade LNG helps companies meet strict emission standards in the state of California. Vehicles fueled by the transportation grade LNG produce approximately one-sixth of the nitrous oxides (NOx) and up to 15 percent less greenhouse gases than comparable petroleum diesel fueled vehicles.

Earth Biofuels Launches BioWillie® Marketing Program 09 January, 2007 |
 |
| Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF), the exclusive distributor of Willie Nelson’s brand of biodiesel – BioWillie® – today announced a marketing program to increase the availability of its biodiesel brand. Earth Biofuels will now offer the use of the brand to biodiesel retail fuel providers outside the Earth Biofuels fuel distribution network. As a result, fueling stations will be able to leverage the awareness, loyalty and quality built into the brand.
The branding agreements between Earth Biofuels and retail fuel providers will include stipulations that all biodiesel fuel sold under the BioWillie® brand name must meet the quality standards set for biodiesel by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) under specification number D-6751 as well as other rigorous compliance requirements for protecting the biodiesel fuel quality and brand name.
“The present demand for the BioWillie® brand biodiesel exceeds its current distribution network,” said Earth Biofuels Vice President of Sales Jim Horton. “Truckers are asking for BioWillie® because they believe the name means quality. This program will allow Earth Biofuels to establish retail BioWillie® brand biodiesel at pump locations anywhere in the country where biodiesel is sold.”
Although biodiesel production has increased dramatically over the past several months, Earth Biofuels believes that the ability for retail biodiesel providers to effectively market their product domestically has not kept pace. By offering a recognizable name brand under tight quality controls, this unique program may help retail biodiesel providers increase demand at the retail level.

Earth Biofuels to Acquire Controlling Interest in Ethanol Production Facility 03 January, 2007 |
 |
| DALLAS (January 3, 2007) – Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Earth Ethanol, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Liquafaction Corporation to construct and operate an ethanol production facility located near Moses Lake, Washington. Earth Ethanol will beneficially own 80% of the facility, which is projected to produce approximately 36 million gallons of ethanol per year by the end of 2007.
The project is a renovation and expansion of an existing ethanol plant built in 1992 with an original capacity of approximately six million gallons per year. The facility will be upgraded with state-of-the-art processes and controls and will be able to process both corn and barley as feedstock for the ethanol production.
Moses Lake is located in Grant County, the largest corn-producing county in the state of Washington, and is adjacent to the largest barley producing counties in the state. The ability to operate on two grains will help to reduce the exposure to rapidly changing corn or barley prices.
“The estimated production capacity of this facility is in line with our objective of having an annualized ethanol production rate of at least 30 million net gallons by the end of 2007,” said Earth Biofuels’ Executive Vice President, Kit Chambers. “With the strong ethanol market on the west coast and specifically in Seattle, we believe this is a great opportunity for Earth Ethanol.”
Production at the facility is expected to increase incrementally – from an initial 12 million gallons per year in June of 2007 to 36 million gallons per year by November 2007.
